I am an SEO Engineer. Yes, you read that right! SEO isn’t just a marketing methodology as commonly perceived. It’s much more than that. Somewhere along the way, SEO was grouped under Digital Marketing because it seemed to fit under that a unified umbrella for a corporate or an agency to fit all organizational target to monitor growth under one umbrella. But does that mean SEO is only about marketing? Absolutely not. In fact, SEO is an all-encompassing field that offers opportunities to engage with a variety of technologies, continuously upskill, staying ahead of emerging trends and keeping a watch on algorithmic updates.
What makes my job as an SEO Engineer truly fascinating is the constant evolution of trends and technologies. There’s no universal approach or solution; SEO is dynamic, and that’s what makes it such an exciting and rewarding field.
As an SEO Engineer, I have obtained a solid understanding of coding, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, to debug and execute codes all necessary SEO elements. This means my role isn’t just about marketing – I say every SEO is a part developer, tester, marketer, data analyst, copywriter, client relationship manager and sometimes even involved in business development activities to nurture clients or in-house brands to provide ideas with growth opportunities. With these diverse responsibilities, I strive to be both a jack and master of all trades.
